Be An Amazing Human Being

Posted on

Sometimes, it can be disheartening to hear what others think about Islam, what others think about our Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wassalam. The best way to honor our prophet and counteract the negative perception people have of him is to learn his ways, follow his ways, and share his ways.

The best way to defend your religion is to be a good Muslim. Don't be good for show. Be good, truly good. Be good to your parents, to your spouse, to your siblings, to your friends, to your neighbors, to the cashier at the grocery store, to the waiter at the restaurant.

Here's a peak at Modern Muslim Home's "A Prophetic Ramadan" campaign, in which we shared daily reminders from the life of the Prophet (saw) on our Facebook page during the month of Ramadan. Although Ramadan is long gone, we hope everyone will take these lessons to heart and honor our religion by following his way. Go live Islam. Be an amazing human being.

Feel free to share with Muslims and Non-Muslims alike!

Make someone happy |

This may seem like a small thing, but did you know what the Prophet (saw) said? “Whoever meets his Muslim brother and makes him happy with something that Allah (swt) likes, Allah (swt) will make him happy on the Day of Resurrection.” (At-Tabarani). How beautiful is that?!

Don't assume things |

The Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, "Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales." (Bukhari and Muslim).

Honor your guests |

A nice meal. A warm smile. You know those small things you might have learned from your family about how to treat guests in your home? Be grateful for those things. The Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, "Let whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day honor his guest." (Sahih Muslim)

Make people feel included |

Be sensitive towards other people's feelings. Don't let them feel left out. The Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, "If you are three, two should not converse privately to the exclusion of the other, until more people join you, because that will make him sad." (Bukhari and Muslim). SubhanAllah - there is so much kindness in Islam.

Educate yourself |

The Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, “It is obligatory for every Muslim, male or female, to acquire knowledge.” (Al-Bayhaqi)
